Delarosa Downtown feels like a spot where casual San Francisco evenings gently unfold. Nestled in Yerba Buena Lane, this Italian restaurant and wine bar mixes a straightforward dining experience with a touch of local buzz, offering a gathering place for both after-work unwinding and solo dinners. Its tight but welcoming interior, coupled with a covered patio, gives folks options depending on the weather or mood.

The menu leans into classic Italian flavors with a clear focus on pizza and hearty pasta. A standout is their Margherita with Burrata — creamy and fresh, it pairs well with the easygoing bar vibe. If you're passing through after an art museum trip or a conference day, grab a seat at the bar where the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, often happy to sample wines or suggest drinks like their Al Fresco Spritz or a ginger beer. This makes it approachable for solo diners or small groups looking for quick service without sacrificing quality.

Though it can get lively, especially around peak dining times, food arrives promptly, highlighting dishes such as the Dungeness Crab Arancini with Calabrese aioli or the Burrata Bruschetta drizzled with hazelnut and honey. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish — not overly fussy — with a subtle coolness typical of the downtown SF scene. The outdoor patio is a quiet draw on warmer days, offering covered seating that invites lingering over a plate or two along with a good glass of wine.

Delarosa Downtown fits well into a local evening routine where you might want a casual Italian meal paired with an enjoyable cocktail or wine, especially after a long day. It's neither a tourist trap nor an overhyped destination, but rather a spot where locals appreciate well-made, familiar dishes and friendly service in a compact yet lively setting.

At the end of a busy day I like to pop in for a salad and an appetizer order of their amazing meatballs! Small bar with tight seating, but lots of inside and outside (covered tables). Bar staff is very friendly, but it can get busy, however, food came out really fast!

The pizza came out promptly and was well prepared. There wasn’t anything specific about the ingredients that really stood out to me or put the pizza over the top, but it was still good. It’s like the venue wanted me to believe that the eating experience was more elevated than what it actually was. I don’t mean to be too harsh, it just seemed like a decent, well made classic pizza.

I walked into this spot for a quick solo dinner during a conference trip to SFO — it was right next to my hotel and popped up on a Google whim. The place had an effortlessly cool vibe, and since I was by myself, they offered me a seat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and kicked things off by offering me samples of two different wines. Loved the gesture — I picked one and settled in with my glass while scanning their small but intriguing menu. It was happy hour, so I went for a 10” wood-fired pizza topped with marinara, salami, spicy peppers (yes, actual heat!), olives, onions, and parmesan. Sounded like a dream combo, and honestly, it was — once it finally arrived. The only downside? The pizza took way too long. But here’s the thing: the bartender came over, genuinely apologized, and comped the pizza without me even asking. Total class act. So despite the delay, I walked out smiling. Great wine, flavorful pizza, and a vibrant, welcoming vibe — what more could you want after a long day?

We walked in after a visit to the SF MoMa. The fall pizza was definitely unique and brought in a different flavor profile compared to usual pizza! The cauliflower was good but the highlight was the tiny onion focaccia — this was really really scrumptious — should try item!

Cute place with an exquisite patio (though I was too chilly to indulge) and excellent food and staff. I was dining alone and had the pleasure of being served by Adam (and later, Noe) who were kind, attentive, and made excellent recommendations. Though seemingly simple, their spaghetti and meatball was excellent. The perfect blend of fresh and spicy and hit the spot. The burrata bruschetta that someone recommended here was also excellent and was the perfect mix to hit every flavor profile available for a quite reasonable price (at happy hour I paid ~10 for each. Highly recommend! Especially if you have the pleasure of visiting when Adam or Noe are at the bar

My coworker recommended I try this out, since I'm gluten free and love a good pizza. I decided to go with a simple burata margarita pizza, since I've been eating too much rich food lately. It was REALLY good. I wasn't sure I was going to be into such a saucy pizza, but the sauce was flavorful, and thick, and really hit the spot honestly. The gluten free crust was crunchy and held up well. I don't think it's house made (I could be wrong) but for a pre-made crust it was surprisingly good. I also had the ceasar salad, not pictured, which was crisp and refreshing and had lots of tasty parmesan. The leaves were massive, but I managed to mostly not look like a vegetable barbarian while eating it. Great service, loud and busy but really nice open layout, so it didn't feel suffocating. I got in right away cause I was by myself and could just sit at the bar. The location is very cool, as it's in an outdoor very modern mall kind of area. Anyways, just go eat there. It's great.
